Random Thoughts

I have been blogging on a different website lately, so I am going to a little catching up, here. Things in my life have been a bit stressed and I haven't gotten any artwork finished lately. The painting below is about 3 years old now.
My work continues to go well, but I don't know if my private stress is causing me to be less accurate. I have made mistakes lately. I have the best boss, and a great co-worker, so I hope I am not going to be messing this up.
My sister, J, has breast cancer, metastasized. After fighting the disease for 7 years, the fight is coming to an end. It has taken me a lot of work to recognize the things that are blessings from this time. As family, we are closer, stronger, and have known the gift of realizing our time is short.
Meanwhile, we are preparing for the holidays and planning my wedding in June.

Hanging out with Grandma

So today, I am hanging out with my grandma. I see her every Monday, and a lot of times we have dinner together. So, today, I am also changing her ink cartridge in her scanner/printer and updating the microsoft updates so I thought I would take a second to show her my Blog. So, Hi Grandma! This is my blog.

Imagination and sci-fi

or is it the real deal? As a fan of the Shadowrun role-playing universe, it kind of struck me as, well, interesting is the best I can come up with, so, interesting that there is now a line of armored clothing...'high' quality, available for the finest parties, but capable of stopping Uzi bullets.

Interesting.

Stress

Ok. So, I have been told to blog something. Stress, sometimes it can be good. In this case, not so much. I have had a really rough few weeks at work. My boss got a vacation in the middle of a software meltdown. My co-worker had a personal meltdown in the middle of the recovery from the software meltdown. And I worked every freakin' minute of it. So today, the co-worker asked if she had done something to make me mad. No, she hadn't, in fact, I quite like her. However, I pretty much hit my limit around Tuesday, and my anti-social behavior was actually MY way of simply avoiding a comment or action that I might regret later.

So, Monday, I get a day off. I get to drive to Nashville and back, taking my sister for her bloodwork for her chemo. At least I won't be at work.

Introductions

Okay, just a little introduction, online I am Amethystkat, or Kat, and I have a wonderful fiance, a great step-son to be, a fabulous family and 2 cats and a step-dog. I am planning a wedding for June 6, I never thought I would be a June bride!

I plan to do occasional blogging, sharing pictures, poetry, thoughts, ideas, pet stories, whatever. I had a blog a few years ago, but I can't find it any more and I am ready to do this again. So, if you come across this little corner of cyberspace and want to spend time here, feel free!
